Weave Unveils Isaac 0, a $7,999 Laundry Folding Robot

For $7,999 plus a $250 deposit, Bay Area residents can now outsource their laundry pile to Isaac 0, a stationary robot from startup Weave. Despite the steep price tag and the promise of automated chores, the machine requires human teleoperators to assist with complex tasks and struggles with oversized linens.

The device processes a standard load of laundry in 30 to 90 minutes, though its capabilities remain strictly limited. Isaac 0 cannot handle bed sheets, large blankets, or inside-out garments, functioning only when plugged into a standard wall outlet. Weave acknowledges the current reliance on remote human intervention, though the company maintains that the robot's performance will refine as the system matures.

This release places Weave in direct competition with major tech players also chasing the dream of chore-eliminating home automation. Both LG’s CLOiD and SwitchBot’s Onero H1 recently debuted similar laundry-folding concepts at CES, signaling a broader industry push toward domestic robotics. Whether these machines can move beyond controlled demonstrations to provide genuine utility in real-world homes remains an open question.
