To activate the feature, users simply toggle the "Translate voices with Meta AI" option before publishing their content. The system allows creators to review the generated output and apply lip-sync adjustments before the video goes live. Once published, the platform automatically displays translated reels to viewers based on their preferred language settings, ensuring that each video carries a clear disclosure tag noting the use of AI.
Access is currently tiered, rolling out to all public Instagram accounts and Facebook creators who maintain a following of at least 1,000 people. While the tool is currently limited to English and Spanish, it marks a significant expansion of the technology Meta first demonstrated at its Connect event last year.
