Microsoft Stuns European Gamers With Sharp Xbox Price Hikes

European and British consumers are facing a massive surge in hardware costs as Microsoft raises Xbox prices by as much as €200 or £170. The aggressive move marks the third round of increases since May 2025, pushing the cost of flagship gaming consoles to unprecedented levels for the regional market.

Microsoft Stuns European Gamers With Sharp Xbox Price Hikes

The 1TB Xbox Series X with a disc drive now reaches £669.99 or €799.99, a jump of more than 30 percent from its previous price point. Even steeper is the hike for the 512GB Xbox Series S, which climbs over 43 percent to reach £429.99. These changes follow a global trend of rising component costs, particularly for RAM and storage, as the AI industry consumes vast quantities of semiconductor supply.

Microsoft is simultaneously retiring its 2TB model to navigate the ongoing storage crunch. With the high-end Series X now costing $300 more than its 2020 launch price, the company signals a departure from the established pricing structure of the current console generation. The new pricing breakdown is as follows:

- 512GB Xbox Series S: €499.99 / £429.99 - 1TB Xbox Series S: €599.99 / £519.99 - 1TB Xbox Series X Digital: €749.99 / £619.99 - 1TB Xbox Series X Disc: €799.99 / £669.99
