Poindexter, an ironworker running in Ohio’s 7th District, leveled his criticism on X this weekend, stating that no one accused of threatening a spouse with a firearm or harming a child belongs in office. His comments follow a 20-minute video address from Miller, who declared he will not withdraw from the race before the upcoming ballot deadline. Miller explicitly denied abusing his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, or their daughter.

The allegations against the congressman are extensive. Records from a prior investigation into child abuse—though ultimately deemed unsubstantiated—include claims that Miller shoved his wife and held a gun to her head. Emily Moreno’s spokesperson, Stefan Mychajliw, dismissed Miller’s recent video as a desperate, lie-filled attempt to salvage his career, emphasizing that legal evidence of the representative's history of violence remains a matter of public record. Her father, Sen. Bernie Moreno, also broke his silence, urging Miller to seek professional help and resign.

Additionally, former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham previously accused a Trump-era staffer of assault, leading to a defamation lawsuit Miller settled confidentially.
