The latest funding round attracted heavyweights including 8VC, Silent Ventures, and Nova Global. 8VC’s involvement is notable given its ties to U.S. defense giants like Anduril and Shield AI. Since launching in 2024, Terra has aggressively scaled its operations, projecting $100 million in total contracts and revenue in the tens of millions by the end of this year.
Currently, many African nations rely on a patchwork of foreign contractors for security intelligence, leaving defense infrastructure vulnerable to instability. Terra intends to replace this reliance by establishing itself as the primary provider of indigenous military hardware. The new capital will finance a broader manufacturing footprint across the Global South, alongside the opening of international offices in London, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. to secure further U.S. partnerships.
