Koo arrives at the Liechtenstein-headquartered bank following an extensive career across Singapore’s financial sector. His professional history includes high-level compliance roles at institutions such as BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Schroders, and Coutts. Most recently, he served as the regional head of compliance for Bank J Safra Sarasin for over four years, preceded by a tenure as head of compliance at EFG Private Bank.
While the bank confirmed his appointment, officials declined to identify his predecessor or detail the specific circumstances surrounding the transition. At the Singapore branch, Koo will report to Thomas Rupf, who serves as both the head of the Singapore branch and the chief investment officer for Asia. The appointment signals a focus on reinforcing internal oversight as the firm continues to expand its footprint in the regional wealth management market.
