The Steam Frame functions as a hybrid device, capable of both local play and streaming from a PC. Key specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and dual LCD screens, each providing a 2160 x 2160 resolution across a 110-degree field of view. The leaked tutorials highlight physical adjustments, such as pivot arms for positioning and a spacer designed to accommodate users who wear glasses.

Valve also introduced an "Ergonomic Accessories Kit" to refine the user experience. This bundle features a top head strap for improved weight distribution, hand straps for secure controller grip, and a specialized light blocker tailored for smaller facial profiles. A wireless dongle facilitates the streaming connection to PCs or Steam Machines, further simplifying the setup process.
