Sony Expands ULT Party Speaker Lineup with Heavyweight Tower Models

The flagship ULT Tower Max commands attention with a $1,499.99 price tag and a footprint substantial enough to double as furniture. Beneath its exterior, the speaker houses four tweeters, two midrange drivers, and three 280mm woofers, engineered to push the company's most aggressive bass response to date. While the 50-pound Tower 7 is significantly lighter than its larger sibling, both models incorporate wider wheels and redesigned handles to navigate their bulk.

Functionality across the trio leans into professional utility, as each model now includes USB-C, RCA, and XLR ports for wired audio sources. Beyond the hardware connectivity, Sony has updated the software experience to allow users to toggle between EQ profiles. This includes the bass-heavy ULT1 and ULT2 presets, alongside a Flat mode designed for a more faithful reproduction of original studio mixes. The integrated lighting system, utilizing up to 100 LEDs, provides both decorative animation and functional status alerts for Bluetooth syncing and battery health.
