The 6.83-inch screen boasts a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. By incorporating its signature anti-glare coating onto the OLED substrate, TCL claims the hardware maintains superior visibility compared to standard flagship displays. The company first showcased this hybrid technology at MWC in March, positioning the P80 Ultra as the inaugural product to utilize the panel.

Functionally, the phone operates as a standard Android device for the majority of use cases. A dedicated Nxtpaper Key triggers Max Ink Mode, which strips away color and complex notifications to simulate the look of an e-reader. This mode activates a restricted custom UI, transforming the handset into a focused reading tool without requiring the user to carry a secondary device.
