Hohem Eyepic Challenges DJI with Detachable Gimbal Camera

The Eyepic features a 2.51-inch rotating touchscreen on the grip, allowing users to toggle between vertical and horizontal 4K video capture at 60fps. Physical controls include a joystick for framing adjustments and a dedicated zoom lever, mimicking the form factor of established competitors like the DJI Osmo Pocket series. When detached, the camera module functions independently, streaming a 1080p live feed to the grip from up to 32 feet away.

While the primary gimbal assembly remains sensitive to water, the modular camera unit is rated for submersion at depths exceeding 32 feet. Hohem includes magnetic accessories to facilitate mounting the device to clothing or wearing it via a lanyard for hands-free operation. The company has yet to disclose specific details regarding retail pricing, internal storage capacity, or total battery endurance.
