AI Agents Instinct and Muse Pivot to Voice Concierge Services

The race for the dominant AI assistant has shifted toward telephone interaction, as both San Francisco-based Instinct and Meta’s Muse recently launched features enabling their agents to place outbound calls. This capability aims to bridge the gap between digital automation and real-world logistics, such as booking reservations or managing service accounts.

Instinct founder Noah Shinn introduced the "Concierge" feature via X, describing it as a white-glove service capable of navigating tasks that lack digital interfaces, including securing spots on dentist cancellation lists or resolving billing disputes. The tool is currently entering early access for a select user base. Simultaneously, Meta has pushed its Muse assistant into the same arena, allowing users to initiate calls to U.S. businesses. Meta is employing a feedback-driven rollout, prioritizing access for those who explicitly request the functionality through the app.

These updates effectively neutralize a competitive advantage previously held by smaller rivals who touted voice capabilities as a differentiator. Beyond calling, the ecosystem is evolving rapidly; Instinct recently enabled its agents to interact with other users' assistants through a trusted network and introduced dedicated email addresses for account management. Investor confidence remains high, with reports suggesting Instinct is nearing a $10 billion valuation following a $350 million funding round last month. Market data from Sensor Tower underscores this momentum, noting that Muse secured 730,000 U.S. downloads in its first five days, slightly outpacing the initial launch of the Meta AI app.
