Barclays Recruits Wee Yee-Yeong to Lead Asia Private Banking

Wee Yee-Yeong brings over two decades of experience to the role, having previously served as chief executive and head of sales for Morgan Stanley’s wealth management division in Singapore. His resume includes senior tenures at major financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, Credit Suisse, and the Bank of Singapore. He succeeds Alexander Harrison, who held the position on an interim basis.

Based in Singapore, Wee will oversee the private bank’s distribution teams and focus on expanding the firm’s reach among internationally mobile wealth creators. Annabelle Bryde, head of Barclays Private Bank International, noted that the move is central to the bank's regional growth strategy. Meanwhile, Adrish Ghosh continues to lead Private Bank India, reporting directly to Bryde. Barclays maintains a presence in the Asia Pacific region spanning more than 50 years, with current operations across markets including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, and Mainland China.
