Tikehau Capital Expands Private Credit Access via iCapital

Paris-based alternative asset manager Tikehau Capital has listed its European private credit strategy on the iCapital Marketplace, marking a shift toward broader distribution for its ELTIF 2.0-compliant fund. The move enables wealth managers across EMEA markets to access senior secured debt previously reserved for institutional investors.

The strategy functions as an evergreen, euro-denominated fund domiciled in Luxembourg. By aligning with the revised European Long-Term Investment Fund framework, Tikehau lowers entry barriers for high-net-worth individuals, focusing primarily on first-lien senior secured debt issued by European companies. This partnership deepens a collaboration initiated in 2022, when iCapital began managing digital subscriptions and investor lifecycle services for the firm.

Market participants view this shift as part of a wider trend toward semi-liquid structures in European private wealth. While managers increasingly rely on third-party platforms to bypass the costs of building internal distribution networks, some analysts remain cautious. Recent volatility in the private credit sector has sparked concerns regarding the liquidity of evergreen funds should retail investors seek to withdraw capital simultaneously during market stress. Tikehau, which manages €53.5 billion in assets, continues to invest its own balance sheet alongside clients to mitigate risk.
