The Surface Laptop Ultra launches with two base configurations priced at $2,600 and $3,700, with high-end custom builds reaching $5,900. Microsoft also introduced a specialized workstation, the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, starting at $6,000. These devices feature revamped cooling systems and unified memory architectures designed to support local AI execution. To lure developers away from the MacBook Pro, Microsoft is currently offering a $1,000 trade-in credit.
Central to this hardware is a revised iteration of Windows 11 featuring "Execution Containers," a sandboxing tool for AI agents. CEO Satya Nadella emphasized that the platform is moving beyond simple model integration toward a system capable of orchestrating complex agent actions and memory management. Dell is mirroring this strategy, opening pre-orders for its XPS 16 Creator Edition at $3,800, with deliveries expected by late October.
