LG’s $3,600 Micro RGB evo MRGB95B struggles to justify its premium

With a price tag of $3,600, LG’s 75-inch Micro RGB evo MRGB95B enters a crowded market dominated by high-end OLEDs. While the panel delivers impressive brightness and vibrant color saturation, significant issues with screen reflections and backlight blooming create a difficult experience that cheaper alternatives manage to avoid.

The MRGB95B is the entry point into LG's new RGB LED lineup, offering four HDMI 2.1 ports and support for Dolby Vision. Despite these high-end specifications, the television relies on the webOS platform, which remains less intuitive than rival interfaces like Google TV or Roku. While the navigation is responsive, the user experience feels cluttered compared to the competition.

Performance flaws further complicate the value proposition. Out-of-the-box color accuracy is inconsistent, and the screen suffers from a highly distracting reflective finish. Most problematic is the pronounced blooming, which undercuts the display's technical advantages. These hardware shortcomings are exacerbated by recent security concerns surrounding LG’s software ecosystem, specifically allegations of continuous audio recording—claims the company has formally denied. Users opting for this model should be aware that accepting the privacy policy is currently a mandatory requirement to utilize the smart features of the webOS interface.
