Pacific Asset Management Establishes Uruguay Hub for Latin America

London-based investment house Pacific Asset Management has planted a permanent flag in Montevideo, launching a dedicated Latin American entity to capture surging regional demand. The firm transition two veteran sales directors to full-time status after the duo successfully secured over $100 million in investor capital through a third-party marketing arrangement.

Inés Pick and Santiago Queirolo Vilaró now lead the newly formed Pacific Asset Management LATAM, reporting directly to Seb Stewart, the firm’s partner and head of Americas business development. Their mandate focuses on expanding the company’s distribution footprint across both Latin America and the US offshore market, building on a year of robust interest in the firm's actively managed investment strategies.

This regional expansion mirrors a broader push by the London firm to bolster its presence across the Americas. The move follows the recent appointment of Carlos Rodriguez as the company’s inaugural US-based employee, signaling a concerted effort to diversify its global asset base. Founded in 2016 by CEO Matthew Lamb, the firm serves as the primary asset management vehicle for Sir John Beckwith’s family office. The institutional landscape for Pacific has evolved rapidly, marked by a 25 percent stake acquisition by Australia’s Pinnacle Investment Management in November 2024 and the August purchase of activist investor Asset Value Investors, which brought over £18.4 billion in assets under the firm’s umbrella.
