Blackwall Hits $2.2B Valuation Amid Surge in AI Bot Traffic

Estonia-based security firm Blackwall has secured $100 million in Series C funding, quadrupling its valuation to $2.2 billion. As the internet faces a tidal wave of rogue AI agents and automated scraping, the company is positioning its channel-first software as the primary defense for web hosting providers globally.

Blackwall Hits $2.2B Valuation Amid Surge in AI Bot Traffic

The latest round, spearheaded by AVP with support from Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures, and Tera Ventures, highlights the mounting pressure on web infrastructure. While industry giants like Cloudflare and Akamai tackle threats directly, Blackwall distinguishes itself by selling through intermediaries. By providing hosting and cloud providers with customizable security bundles, the firm allows these partners to white-label tools and retain direct relationships with their end customers.

CEO Nikita Rozenberg notes that the platform’s utility goes beyond simple DDoS protection. Using digital fingerprinting and localized AI models, the software distinguishes legitimate traffic from malicious botnets. This capability is becoming critical as AI agents evolve from simple crawlers into entities capable of transacting on behalf of users. Blackwall intends to deploy its new capital to expand its operational footprint across North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East, while further refining its security suite for managed service providers.
