Nirva’s $25 million pre-Series A round, which follows an $8 million seed investment, brings the company’s total funding to $33 million. The startup, founded in 2025 by Wei Lyu, Jason Chen, and Hanying Hu, plans to begin taking orders for the $249 device in November. Shipping is slated to commence by the end of the year, with options available in silver, brushed silver, black, and gold.
Unlike meeting recorders or general-purpose ambient gadgets, the device functions as an always-on personal insight tool. During onboarding, users provide voice samples to train the system, which then ignores external audio and records only the wearer. CEO Wei Lyu notes that the company does not retain audio data or transcripts after processing. Instead, the companion app analyzes tone, pitch, and speed to provide feedback on communication styles and emotional states. While the device is entering a competitive field—facing off against startups like Taya and established players like Apple and Amazon—Nirva is positioning its hardware as a tool for self-awareness rather than simple productivity.
