Eric Schmidt, who joined the startup during its 2021 Series A, currently holds a 1% stake valued at nearly $10 billion. Similarly, Spark Capital, which secured a board seat with a $75 million investment during the 2023 Series C round, has seen its position balloon more than 90-fold to $7 billion. Menlo Ventures, having funneled over $1 billion into the firm through its leadership of the Series D round, now holds a stake worth $14 billion.
Other major players have seen swift returns even from late-stage entries. Iconiq’s $6 billion bet from last year has grown to $17 billion, while Sequoia’s $3 billion investment from earlier this year has already more than doubled in value. Sound Ventures, co-founded by Guy Oseary, has also seen its combined $435 million contribution grow into a multi-billion dollar holding. These figures highlight the rapid appreciation of the AI lab as it positions itself for a monumental market debut.
