The collaboration integrates NewView’s expertise in structuring secondary deals with Carta’s platform, simplifying the logistics for founders. Ravi Viswanathan, founder of NewView, argues that this shift is essential for retention. While the prospect of working at a unicorn was once enough to attract top talent, the market is now saturated with billion-dollar private companies, forcing firms to offer more tangible financial incentives to prevent talent migration to public companies.
Data from the two firms indicates that while tender offers for Series C and later-stage companies are projected to triple over a three-year period, the practice remains niche. Only 44 such transactions were executed in the first half of 2026. Despite the slow adoption, the list of companies leveraging these programs is expanding beyond high-profile giants like OpenAI to include firms such as HighTouch, Decagon, Wayve, and ElevenLabs. Viswanathan views these liquidity events as a strategic tool for morale, framing the delay in public exits as a structural reality that requires active management to keep employees invested in their long-term professional journey.
