The Serene operates at a level comparable to a running refrigerator, a distinction cofounder Mehul Nariyawala claims addresses a primary friction point for owners: the tendency to shut off loud machines mid-cycle. While many competitors achieve lower noise levels by sacrificing suction power, the Serene maintains maximum performance even at its quietest setting. The hardware redesign focuses on the internal stack to dampen the noise produced by the brush roll and motor.
For those already invested in the ecosystem, the company plans to offer a hardware upgrade path in early 2027. The cost for this transition will be the difference between the customer’s original purchase price and the current $1,695 retail tag. Since the original Matic continues to sell for $1,495, the Serene represents a $200 premium for what the company describes as a focused refinement of their existing technology. The brand remains committed to its unique design, which eschews traditional large docks in favor of an onboard dust bag and water tank system.
