The agency classifies this malicious campaign under the designation “TraderTraitor,” noting that the hackers are currently preparing to launder the proceeds through decentralized finance platforms and instant swap services. While the FBI provided limited forensic evidence, the investigation involves collaborative efforts from the United States Secret Service and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation division.

Binance resumed customer withdrawals today following a temporary freeze implemented immediately after the breach. The exchange had halted operations to contain the fallout from the massive theft, which ranks among the largest in the history of the cryptocurrency sector. Authorities are now monitoring the flow of assets through the blockchain as the perpetrators attempt to obscure the origin of the stolen capital.
