Starting today, residents in cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Nashville, Philadelphia, and San Francisco can have their Xfinity Gateway router delivered to their doorstep within hours of placing an order. Once the hardware arrives, users complete the activation process through the Xfinity app, effectively removing the downtime previously associated with shipping delays.
Eric Jagher, connectivity head at Xfinity, noted that home internet access should align with the instant expectations of modern consumers. For those outside the initial 20-market delivery zone, the company offers an alternative: same-day equipment pickup at any of its 700 retail locations across the United States. Comcast plans to extend this rapid delivery service to its full national footprint by early next year.
