The Aura follows the October 2025 debut of the Samsung Galaxy XR, Google's first venture into the Android-powered spatial computing market. While the final retail price remains unannounced, early adopters who reserve within the initial two-week window will receive a $199 credit toward their purchase, effectively discounting the final cost by $100. Best Buy has been named the primary retail partner for the rollout in the US, UK, Japan, Canada, and South Korea.
Technical specifications suggest a focus on portability and performance. Weighing less than 95 grams, the glasses run on the Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, Qualcomm's latest hardware platform for extended reality. Ziad Asghar, head of Qualcomm’s XR division, noted that the integration of this chip with Google’s Android XR software is designed to boost power efficiency and immersion. Further details are expected to emerge during the Augmented World Expo in Long Beach, California, held from June 15th to 18th.
