Three lawyers from Watson Farley & Williams have joined Mishcon de Reya’s UAE office, marking a significant step in the firm’s regional expansion. Charlotte Bijlani steps in as partner and co-head of the disputes practice, accompanied by managing associate Haya Al Bawab and associate Gabriela Benavides.

The arrivals follow the firm's recent launch of its physical presence at One Za'abeel in Dubai. Bijlani, who previously served as managing partner of WFW’s Dubai office, brings over 20 years of experience in high-value, cross-border commercial litigation and arbitration. Her expertise spans sectors including energy, infrastructure, and telecommunications, with a specific focus on complex disputes involving sovereign wealth funds and financial institutions.

Her appointment marks the second partner addition to the UAE dispute resolution team this year, following the arrival of Bushra Ahmed in March 2026. Under the leadership of managing partner Christopher Skipper, the regional team now counts seven partners. Bijlani holds rights of audience before the DIFC and ADGM Courts, as well as the English Higher Courts, and frequently sits as an arbitrator for the DIAC and ICC. This recruitment drive aligns with the firm’s Vision 2030 strategy, which prioritizes the growth of its international arbitration and multi-jurisdictional litigation capabilities.
