The update introduces a genuine hibernation mode for the Steam Deck LCD, a move designed to curb battery drain during idle periods. By shifting from the current instant-on sleep state to a full memory power-down, Valve aims to close the efficiency gap between its hardware and Windows-based competitors. Owners of the LCD model also regain Bluetooth Wake functionality, allowing for seamless couch-based activation when the device is docked to a television.
Valve has further broadened its hardware ecosystem, extending support to the Lenovo Legion Go 2, the OneXPlayer X1, and various offerings from MSI, GPD, Anbernic, OrangePi, and Zotac. For the wider user base, the update finally enables Bluetooth headset microphone support within the gaming interface. Desktop-focused improvements are equally substantial, with the integration of KDE Plasma 6.4.3, desktop HDR, VRR display support, and refined windowing behavior for titles running through Proton.
