Lombard Odier Taps Former UBS Executive to Lead Turkish Expansion

Lombard Odier has appointed Tuncay Yilmaz as market head of Turkey to accelerate its wealth management presence in the region. Yilmaz, who joins from a 12-year tenure at UBS, will oversee operations from Geneva, reporting to head of New Markets Ali Janoudi effective August 3.

Lombard Odier Taps Former UBS Executive to Lead Turkish Expansion

Yilmaz brings nearly three decades of experience to the role, specifically targeting the needs of ultra-high net worth individuals. During his time at UBS, he managed desks dedicated to Turkish clients, building a reputation for navigating the complexities of the country’s entrepreneurial families. His background includes previous management positions at BNP Paribas Suisse, Banque du Bosphore, and Finansbank.

This leadership change marks a strategic push for the Swiss private bank as it seeks to capture growth in a market defined by a young population and rising asset values. The firm is positioning itself to better serve prominent dynasties like the Koç and Sabanci families, who maintain expansive interests across energy, retail, and financial services. Yilmaz will lead a team that includes Cem Kosenem, who managed the Turkish market on an interim basis for the past two years and will now transition into a senior banker role under Yilmaz's supervision.
