Anthropic updates Claude Code to orchestrate multi-agent workflows

Each thread functions as an independent cloud session, maintaining its own copy of the repository. When multiple agents modify the same codebase, the system handles overlaps through standard merge conflict resolution, mirroring traditional version control workflows. To accelerate high-volume assignments, individual threads can further delegate tasks to subagents or execute iterative loops.

Users maintain oversight through a primary project chat, which serves as a command center for monitoring or updating specific threads. While current functionality is restricted to cloud-based operations, the company intends to integrate support for local tools and hardware shortly. The updated interface is rolling out in beta for select Claude Pro and Max subscribers, with a broader release scheduled for Team and Enterprise tiers in the coming weeks.
