OpenAI is also refining the user experience by enabling richer text output during voice sessions and allowing seamless transitions between mobile devices and desktop environments.

Free and Go users are not entirely excluded, as they receive updated support for plugins and connected applications. This push toward voice-based agency follows the July launch of the GPT-Live model and recent desktop integrations. While competitors like Anthropic have moved to merge their chat and workspace interfaces, OpenAI maintains a distinct separation between these environments, focusing instead on optimizing the handoff between platforms.
