Meta Accelerates Muse Adoption as Downloads Top 3 Million

A surge of nearly one million downloads in just three days has propelled Meta’s new AI application, Muse, to the top of both the U.S. Apple App Store and Google Play. The rapid growth follows a high-profile showcase at the Meta Connect conference, where the company unveiled significant feature expansions.

Meta Accelerates Muse Adoption as Downloads Top 3 Million

Market intelligence firm Sensor Tower estimates Muse has surpassed 3.4 million downloads since its September 8 debut, a figure that likely underestimates its true reach following the Meta Connect event. While estimates from other firms like Apptopia and Appfigures vary, they confirm a strong upward trajectory for the app, which is currently limited to users in the United States and Canada. Daily active users jumped 27% on Wednesday alone, signaling that the platform’s technical capabilities are resonating with early adopters.

Meta is leveraging its massive user base to drive this momentum, utilizing cross-platform advertising across Facebook and Instagram. Unlike the strategy used for Threads, Meta is tailoring these promotions to highlight specific AI utility for individual users. Despite this aggressive marketing, internal data suggests that paid house ads accounted for only 6% of impressions during the first ten days, indicating that a significant portion of Muse's popularity stems from organic interest. The app’s growth rate is notably outpacing the early performance of competitors like ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok, as the company prepares to integrate the AI agent into smart glasses and Mac desktop environments.
