Ferrari’s Luce EV Sells Out Through 2027 Despite Skepticism

A starting price of $615,000 and a polarizing design from former Apple chief Jony Ive have not deterred buyers from Ferrari’s first electric vehicle. CEO Benedetto Vigna confirmed Tuesday that the entire 2027 production run for the Luce is fully allocated, with new customers facing at least a one-year wait.

Ferrari’s Luce EV Sells Out Through 2027 Despite Skepticism

The debut of the five-seater in May triggered a dip in Ferrari’s stock price as critics questioned the brand’s shift toward electric propulsion. Despite the lukewarm reception, demand appears robust. Ferrari has kept production numbers private, though reports suggest an initial target of roughly 500 units, scaling toward 2,500 annually by 2030. Vigna declined to identify the buyer demographic, describing the client base as a diverse mix across regions rather than a specific niche.

Financial strength at the company remains tied to more than just its new EV. Third-quarter revenue climbed 7% to €1.9 billion, supported by a growing appetite for bespoke customizations. These personalization options now account for over 21% of revenue from cars and spare parts. Strong interest in the limited-run F80 hypercar and higher margins pushed net income to €431 million, a 13% increase. Consequently, the company raised its full-year guidance, anticipating adjusted earnings of at least €3 billion.
