Investigation Links IDF to Execution-Style Killing of Gaza Medics

A new forensic investigation into the March 2025 killing of 15 Palestinian aid workers in Tel al-Sultan reconstructs an execution-style massacre, contradicting Israeli military claims. The report provides audio and spatial evidence that IDF soldiers fired nearly 1,000 bullets at a clearly marked humanitarian convoy, later attempting to conceal the scene.

Investigation Links IDF to Execution-Style Killing of Gaza Medics

The report, conducted by Forensic Architecture and Earshot, documents a two-hour assault on a convoy of Palestine Red Crescent Society and Palestinian Civil Defense vehicles. Analysts confirmed that Israeli forces fired at close range, with some victims shot from distances of only one to four meters. Survivors testified that after the initial barrage, some aid workers were rounded up, handcuffed, and executed before being buried in a mass grave with their damaged vehicles. Autopsies later revealed that many victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Patterns of Impunity and Cover-up

Israeli officials, including spokesperson Col. Nadav Shoshani, originally claimed the convoy was advancing suspiciously and contained militants. However, video evidence recorded by a victim prior to his death shows the vehicles traveling with sirens and lights fully operational. Following the event, the military repeatedly shifted its narrative. Survivors, including Asaad al-Nassasra, were subsequently detained and subjected to severe abuse at the Sde Teiman prison facility. Legal experts argue that this incident reflects a wider, systemic disregard for the protected status of medical personnel under international law. Despite the mounting documentation of these events, the lack of accountability persists as the site of the massacre is now slated for redevelopment, which critics describe as a deliberate attempt to erase evidence of the crime.
