After a brief hospital transfer due to reported loss of sensation in his body, Garces Perez was returned to the South Texas ICE Processing Center. Legal counsel and lawmakers, including Rep. Joaquin Castro and Rep. Greg Casar, report that he is being held in isolation with inadequate bedding and limited pain management. Furthermore, officials have confirmed the ICE agent involved in the shooting was not wearing a body camera, prompting over 100 members of Congress to demand transparency and an immediate halt to his removal from the country.
