Fujifilm Upgrades Instax Mini Evo 2 with Touchscreen and Video

A 4.5-inch touchscreen now dominates the rear of the Instax Mini Evo 2, marking a shift toward modern digital utility for Fujifilm’s hybrid instant camera. While the device retains its signature analog-inspired dials and print lever, it gains a larger sensor and a niche video capture function.

The hardware overhaul centers on a 1/2.77-inch sensor, a notable increase over the original model’s 1/5-inch component. Fujifilm has opted to eliminate physical rear navigation buttons entirely, favoring an edge-to-edge display that controls the camera's creative suite. Users can toggle between 10 film and 10 lens effects using either the touchscreen or the familiar physical dials, with a new Expanded View mode offering a wider field of capture than previously possible.

Video capabilities arrive on the platform for the first time, though they remain restricted by design. According to DPReview, the camera records silent MP4 clips at 560 × 992 pixels and 24FPS, limited to the seconds immediately preceding a shutter press. These clips must be stored on a microSD card, as the camera’s internal memory is reserved exclusively for still photos. Despite these technical constraints, the device bridges the gap between a nostalgic instant printer and a functional digital shooter.
