The updated hardware introduces Advanced Room Adaptation, a system that continuously recalibrates audio output to match the speaker's environment. Complementing this is Adaptive Volume, which adjusts output levels based on the listener's physical position in the room to maintain consistent volume during playback. This iteration builds upon the aesthetic redesign introduced last year, with the device now available in a graphite finish.
Beyond the Studio, Amazon overhauled the Echo Dot. Powered by the proprietary AZ3 chip, the new unit incorporates a fourth microphone array to enhance voice recognition accuracy. Crucially, the device now functions as an integrated smart home hub with support for Zigbee, Matter, and Thread protocols. It also doubles as an Eero Wi-Fi extender, capable of expanding network coverage by up to 1,000 square feet. The updated Dot is currently available for $99.99, while the standard non-camera Echo Studio remains in the lineup at $219.99.
