Fidelity International’s new Luxembourg-domiciled Global Innovators Fund (SICAV) brings a strategy previously managed by Fidelity Investments to European and Asian markets. Portfolio manager Mark Schmehl will oversee a concentrated portfolio of 100 to 200 stocks, targeting companies that either drive or benefit from structural shifts in technology and business models. Fidelity International serves as the management company, while its subsidiary handles the underlying research and strategy.
Simultaneously, Hines has secured regulatory approval for its Hines Global Real Estate Opportunities (HGRO) strategy. Structured as an ELTIF 2.0, the fund aims to bridge the gap between private wealth and institutional-quality real estate. The strategy focuses on core-plus assets across the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific, leveraging Hines’ proprietary sourcing platform, which evaluates over $100 billion in annual opportunities. David Steinbach, global chief investment officer at Hines, noted that the move addresses a persistent disparity where individuals hold half of global wealth but only 16 percent of alternative assets. HGRO will initially target European private wealth channels before expanding into Latin America, Canada, and the Asia Pacific region.
