Adobe Premiere Mobile Adds Licensed Music from Major Labels

Adobe is integrating licensed music catalogs from Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group into its Premiere mobile editing app. By offering popular tracks directly within the interface, the company aims to help creators capitalize on viral trends without the friction of manual audio imports and external licensing hurdles.

Adobe Premiere Mobile Adds Licensed Music from Major Labels

The upcoming update allows users to incorporate up to 60 seconds of licensed audio directly into their projects. The mobile app will feature a dedicated search and discovery engine, enabling editors to filter music by genre, duration, or label-curated collections. To further streamline the workflow, Adobe is introducing customizable templates pre-synced with music, which can be exported directly to social platforms.

This shift marks a significant departure from the existing library of royalty-free audio, which has historically been the only native option for Premiere users. By securing these partnerships, Adobe is positioning its mobile editor as a more direct competitor to platforms like CapCut, which have dominated the short-form video market through ease of use and immediate access to trending sounds. While the company has not confirmed if these licensed features will extend to the desktop version of Premiere Pro, the move underscores a growing necessity for professional-grade software to adapt to the rapid pace of social media content creation.
