CrowdStrike Bets $495 Million on AI Security Acquisitions

CrowdStrike is spending nearly half a billion dollars to acquire Fiddler AI and Dreadnode, two startups focused on securing enterprise AI agents. As companies scramble to deploy automated models, the cybersecurity giant is moving to consolidate control over the testing and monitoring of these powerful, often unpredictable digital tools.

CrowdStrike Bets $495 Million on AI Security Acquisitions

The deal includes $400 million for Fiddler AI, a firm specializing in observability software, and $95 million for Dreadnode, which automates security testing for AI models. These acquisitions arrive as internal corporate policies struggle to keep pace with the rapid proliferation of autonomous agents and custom-coded applications. Security teams currently face a widening visibility gap as employees deploy tools that bypass traditional safeguards.

CrowdStrike intends to weave these technologies directly into its Falcon platform. Fiddler AI will transition into the Falcon Observe product, providing telemetry on agent behavior before and during deployment. Simultaneously, Dreadnode’s testing capabilities will bolster Falcon Guardian, feeding automated security policy recommendations into the company's existing detection and response controls. With Fiddler AI having previously raised $99 million and the younger Dreadnode securing $14 million, these exits signal a broader market shift toward specialized security layers designed specifically for the AI ecosystem.
