The price reduction marks a sharp pivot from the $1,279 figure quoted during last month’s early reservation window. Xreal GM Ralph Jodice confirmed that customers who secured early preorders will receive automatic refunds for the difference. This aggressive adjustment positions the device more favorably against Meta’s high-end VR offerings, despite the Aura’s 70-degree diagonal field of view and the inherent technical limitations of transparent display optics.
Prospective buyers in the US, Canada, and South Korea can now purchase the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration immediately, with shipments slated for mid-November. A higher-spec 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is also available for $1,299. Following the initial rollout, the hardware will reach Japanese consumers on November 2, with a wider international expansion scheduled for next year. The platform launches with a library of 150 dedicated XR experiences.
