Starting November 6th, US users can join the waitlist for the Sonos voice assistant, with full access rolling out on November 12th. The interface allows for complex natural language commands, such as identifying music by album artwork descriptions or navigating playback across specific rooms based on contextual queries. Users can also manage speaker grouping, volume levels, and timers through voice prompts, alongside the ability to create up to 10 custom AI agents.
Beyond voice features, the update addresses navigation pain points that plagued the previous version. The homescreen now supports custom presets for rapid playback in designated zones. Interface tweaks include swipe-to-skip functionality on the "Now Playing" screen and customizable favorites. For iOS users, a new System Health diagnostic tool is available to help identify network and hardware connectivity issues within a home setup.
